There is 1 class I have not started this ImagineIT project for two reasons. I had a student teacher teaching the class so I could not start, but I also saved this class to start this semester in order to implement what I’ve learned from other 3 classes during fall semester. I will carry out the project with current 3 classes and start project with 1 class, so there will be a total of 4 classes this project will be implemented to. My plan from winter reflection: 1. integrating Quickfire Challenges; 2. use more technology and innovative minds; 3. Google Classroom; and 4. share and discuss their work to a larger audience. My hopes and dreams out of this project is for students to see that math is all around us, not only in the math classroom that they sit in. My mistake for the previous implementation in fall was narrowing down my project to a smaller scale of computer science only. I was so focused on getting this Computer Science for All program started that I forgot to connect it to the bigger picture. However, this semester, I want to connect it all together to the bigger picture and the purpose of this assignment “math is everywhere” idea. I am hoping that students who didn’t like math will see that math is really everywhere and that hopefully they’ll find parts of math that they like; and students who liked math to begin with get excited that math is all around us. This is not something I thought about in the beginning of the project, but for a final product for my students, I want them to create a video capturing moments when they saw math is all around us using technology that is available in the classroom. Students may create a video with groups or independently.
